School CONSTITUTION

1. PRESIDENT

A. Shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the Union.
B. Shall preside over all meetings of the Union.
C. Shall act as spokesman for the Union on all issues.
D. Shall have a casting vote.
E. Shall be a signatory to the Bank Account and other financial transactions of the Union.
F. Shall be responsible for the proper custody of all property of the Union.

2. VICE PRESIDENT
Shall assist the President in the discharge of his duties and act in his absence.

3. SECRETARY
a. Shall be responsible for recording minutes and correspondence of the Union
b. Shall be a signatory to the bank account and other financial transactions of the Union.
c. Shall keep an up-to-date record of all members, including honorary members.

4. VICE SECRETARY
Shall assist the Secretary in the discharge of his duties and act in his absence.

5. TREASURER
a. Shall be responsible for all financial transactions of the Union.
b. Shall pay out all monies as directed by the President and approved by the Executive.
c. Shall be a signatory to the bank account and other financial transactions of the Union.
d. Shall keep proper books of accounts and submit same for audit as and when required.

6. FINANCIAL SECRETARY

A. Shall keep proper record of all monies paid to or by the Union.
B. Shall submit all books of accounts for auditing.

7. PUBLICITY OFFICER

Shall be the public relations officer of the Union and be responsible for issues relating to advertisements and publication of notices for meetings.

8. ORGANISING SECRETARY

Shall be responsible for the general preparations towards the convening of meetings and ensure the orderly arrangement of the venue.

9. NATIONAL CO-ORDINATING COUNCIL
A. There shall be established a National Co-ordinating Council, hereinafter called the Council that shall be an organ of the Union whose decision is subject to the Annual General Meeting.

B. The Council shall comprise all members of the National Executive Committee and President of the regional branches.

C. The Council shall have overall responsibility for the co-ordination of the activities of the
various branches to ensure the attainment of the objectives of the Union.

D. The Council shall meet at least once in a year.
