ARTICLE 5 - BRANCH UNIONS A. There shall be established in every region of Ghana and where appropriate foreign branches B. Each branch shall have an Executive Committee comprising such officers with responsibilities as are indicated in Article 4 of this Constitution. ARTICLE 6 - ELECTION AND REMOVAL OF OFFICERS A. The executive of the Union shall be elected by a simple majority of the members of good standing present and voting, at the Annual General Meeting of the Union and shall serve for two [2] years. B. An electoral commission of three [3] members nominated from among members present at the meeting shall conduct an election. The electoral commission shall be deemed dissolved after C. For the purpose of clause [a], two years mean twenty-four [24] calendar months from the date of election. D. The entire executive or a member may be removed from office by a vote of no confidence passed by two-thirds of members present at a meeting, on grounds of physical or mental disability or neglect of any duties or gross misconduct. E. Notwithstanding anything contained in this constitution, a member of the executive may by writing under his hand resign from office. ARTICLE 7 - COMMITTEES There shall be established in the Union the following committees: A. A five [5] member finance committee which shall be responsible for generating funds and other matters relating to the finances of the Union. The Treasurer shall be an ex-officio member. B. An audit committee of three [3] to audit the financial records of the Union and circulate their report to the branches a month before the Annual General Meeting and present the report at the meeting. C. Other committees that the Union shall form from time to time as it deems fit to establish. ARTICLE 8 - MEETINGS I. There shall be at least two [2] general meetings of the Union in one year, the last of which shall be designated the Annual General Meeting [AGM]. II. General meetings shall be duly summoned by the executive and due notice shall be given either in writing or/and publication through the mass media at least fourteen [14] clear days before the date of the meeting
