OBITUARY ANNOUNCEMENT

In Loving Memory of Mr. Kofi Worlanyo
BHOBU Class of 1979 | St. Martin’s (now Etu Mantey House)

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear brother, Mr. Kofi Worlanyo, a proud member of the Bishop Herman Old Boys’ Union (BHOBU), Class of 1979, who passed away on 12th October 2026.

Kofi was more than a proud Bihecan; he was a committed servant of the BHOBU community, a visionary, and a passionate advocate for the bonds of brotherhood that unite us.

A member of St. Martin’s House, now Etu Mantey House, Kofi played a significant role in the revival of BHOBU in the mid-1990s. He served on the interim executive during that important period and, together with his dynamic Class of ’79, helped lay the foundations for the vibrant and active Union we celebrate today.

The Class of ’79 was instrumental in supporting BHOBU’s growth, sponsoring several May Day events and becoming the first year group to sponsor an annual dinner dance. Kofi and a dedicated core of his year group were always at the heart of BHOBU activities, giving their time, resources, and energy to strengthen the Union and foster lasting relationships among Bihecans.

An accomplished IT professional, Kofi also made valuable contributions to BHOBU’s early digital journey. The Union’s first attempts at establishing a website owe much to his knowledge, initiative, and commitment. Long before digital networking became commonplace, he understood its power to connect people. “Networking” was his watchword—a principle he championed as far back as the 1990s and one that remains central to the BHOBU spirit today.

His legacy is woven into the history of our Union, not only through the initiatives he supported but also through the relationships he nurtured and the example he set.

As we mourn his passing, we celebrate a life of service, fellowship, innovation, and unwavering commitment to the BHOBU brotherhood.

Rest well, dear Kofi. Your contributions will not be forgotten, and your legacy will continue to inspire generations of Bihecans.

May the soul of our departed brother rest in perfect peace.
